Recently Adopted Dogs

Lance (#12-001)

Lance is about 1 year old. He is big and goofy, but has come to us very underweight. He tips the scales at 63lbs., but will be spoiled and get to his ideal weight of 85lbs shortly. Lance is fine with cats, and dogs, but he loves to bark at horses. We don't think he understands that they are not BIG dogs. He does well on a leash, beginning to understand the world around him. He is cratetrained, and loves being bathed and getting all those rubs he never had. Playing ball and dog chase are some of his favorite pastime.

Ayla (#11-047) and Shaka (#11-048)

Both dogs are 5 1/2 years o ld... siblings from the same litter. The female (spayed) is Ayla, a yellow Lab. The male (neutered) is Shaka, a black Lab, we would like to see these siblings find a new home together. They are up to date on all shots. The dogs have been loved and well cared for, and they are very loving in return. They get very excited initially upon meeting other dogs, but soon settle down to enjoy their new friends. They love attention and rubs from any person. No food issues... I can put my hand right into their bowls while they eat and they just wag their tails. Ayla will chase a soccer ball in the yard until she drops. Shaka prefers a tennis ball. They stay off of furniture (except my bed once I put the "dog sheet" on it), and they don't chew anything but their own toys. They've been around younger children, including babies, and done just fine. I wouldn't hesitate to let a baby play on the floor with the dogs nearby. If they're pulled by the tail, they just wait patiently for whoever has them to let go, then go about their business. Really, really good dogs.

Wendy (#11-042)

A 5 year old good soul named Wendy has the sweetest little face with a wonderful personality and all she wants to do is please you and be with you. She follows her foster all around the house like a shadow. Considering she has not been allowed in the house she is doing wonderfully and has been very calm in the house. Wendy loves to have attention lavished upon her, and will give it right back to you. She is a medium sized girl, who has had many litters, one being quite recently. A bit of time will give her figure back to her. She is playful, loving and appreciating her new digs.

Blake (#11-038)

Blake is a 1 1/2 year old black lab mix. He is the sweetest boy romping around. Playing with his foster brothers and sister is his favorite passtime. Though cats are around, he would rather be with the dogs. A loving boy wanting to be rubbed and petted, Blake will march right up to you, back in, and wait for a good rub. He is learning his leash manners, and has a good deep bark that will certainly gain your attention.

Max (#11-044)

Max- an 80lb, 3 year old male who is as sweet as chocolate. He gets along well with his foster family of 3 dogs and a 1.5 year old little boy. He is interested in the cats but is told "no" and he leaves them alone. He is like glue, always stuck to your side. He used to be an outside dog but you would never know it because he has learned his indoor manners quite nicely. He listens very well. He just needs some time to work on his table manners. He is heartworm positive but it does not break his spirit. Max is being treated by Lab Rescue and will make a full recovery. He has the perfect balance of youth and maturity. Max is a very special guy who has endured a lot in his young life. He would love to be a part of a very special family!

Diesel (#11-049)

I am sure enjoying getting used to my new foster home. I mean, following my foster mom around, as close as I can, is life at its fullest! I just love it when we go outside and I fetch the tennis ball. I'm also good at catching the Frisbee (whatever that is). I'm practicing my leash manners - and getting quite good at it, I might add. I don't mind my crate - it's a good place for me to rest and regroup. And kids and cats are OK. I am excited to think that I will soon find a forever home. I am 2.5 years old and about 75lbs. I know sit, and I love to swim. Can we go to the river together?

Sirius (#11-046)

Look who found his way to Lab Rescue. This little boy is not so serious, but a fun loving young lab who is having a ball with his foster brother. He will grow to be about 70lbs they say, but right now he is a hippy hoppy loving puppy. Sirius is learning that quiet time is necessary once in awhile, is fine with the house cat, and learning his leash manners. He has learned sit, and LOVES to play tug with his playmate. Housetraining is under control, and he is getting used to his crate.

Gabe (#11-021)

Gabe is a 2 year old black male ready for his new home. He is a sweet boy who loves human attention. Weighing in around 70lbs, he has a few more pounds to add. He comes to us with Lymes disease, which he is being treated for. He likes going on outings, and has lovely leash manners. Gabe is new to us, so check back for updates.

Bella (#11-041)

She can sit on command, and she's working on 'stay'; that's a hard one, because she wants to be right with you. Her coat is shiny and soft, and she enjoys jumping into the lake to get a drink, every time she sees it. This little piece of chocolate is 2 years old, good with dogs, kids, and cats are unknown. She is working on her leash manners, and as you can see, enjoys a picnic. .
