Happy Tails - Dixie (Queenie)

You helped us back in February with the adoption of “Queenie”, the black lab. I just thought I’d share a quick update with you, and hope you can pass it on to her foster mom too. Queenie was re-named “Dixie” and has been a wonderful addition to our family. She is so gentle and patient with our 2-year old daughter, who just last week tried to sit on her and yelled “piggyback!” The two of them play in the backyard every day, chasing each other around and exploring nature. Dixie loves to chase the squirrels and birds in our backyard, and continues to leap like a gazelle running through the woods! She has even caught two moles (which my husband was happy about!) We have taken her several times to our family’s lake house in Pennsylvania, where she runs through the 100+ acres chasing rabbits, squirrels and chipmunks. I attached a picture of her leaping through the lake chasing bugs on our trip Memorial Day weekend. She goes to doggie daycare about once a week, enjoys morning runs with my husband and I, and loves to sleep in the sun on our back deck. We are working on her commands and she is learning quickly. She and the cat get along great (basically Dixie leaves the cat alone and all is well!) Dixie really fits in great with our family and we are so blessed to have her!
